Ross Flora is a Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and guitarist originally from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Raised just outside Roanoke on a working farm, his sound was shaped early by an unlikely blend of bluegrass, R&B, and Southern rock. His first introduction to music came in church—standing on the back of a pew beside his father, learning harmony. By 12, he was teaching himself guitar along to Van Halen records, laying the foundation for a lifelong pursuit of musicianship.

By his teens, Ross was performing across the South Atlantic, and at 19, he joined Roanoke-based group The Kings as a guitarist and vocalist. In 2012, he moved to Nashville, where he built a reputation as both a solo artist and a touring musician, performing nationwide with acts including Johnny T Band and Smoke n’ Guns. Since relocating, he has played over 5,000 live shows while continuing to write and produce his own music.

Ross’s sound lives at the intersection of Southern rock, outlaw country, and Americana, driven by expressive guitar work and grounded, story-forward lyricism. Influenced by artists like Gregg Allman, Duane Allman, Chris Cornell, and Ian Thornley, his music blends grit, soul, and introspection. With a background in English literature, his songwriting draws from themes rooted in nature, identity, and the human experience.

He first introduced his recorded sound with the debut single “Cannonball” in 2022, followed by his debut EP Shoulders of Giants, featuring tracks like breakout single, “Me and Abilene”.

He continued building his catalog with the EP As The Crow Flies (2023), expanding his storytelling through songs such as “Better Times” and “Creek Ran Red.”

In 2024–2025, Ross released a series of  projects “Part of Me,” “Santa Ana Wind,” “Cornerstone,” and single “Old Habits,” showcasing an evolving sound and deeper lyrical perspective.

His latest project, the 2025 EP The Garden, marks his most complete artistic statement to date, a 7-track collection exploring themes of growth, resilience, and rediscovery, with standout songs including “The Garden,” “Small Town No More,” and “Cut a Trail.”

With a rapidly growing catalog and a foundation built on years of live performance, Ross Flora continues to carve out a lane that bridges his rural roots with life on the road, delivering music that feels both timeless and deeply personal.
